DiCaprio may reteam with Departed screenwriter for WB thriller

Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be “circling” an adaptation of The Chaser, a Korean serial killer thriller that will be penned by The Departed scribe William Monahan. Warner Bros. will distribute the film, which was a huge hit in its home country and DiCaprio would likely play the part of an ex-police officer who follows up on one of his missing persons investigations and becomes a pawn in a serial killer’s game. Krasinski, Rudolph and Hines are up for laughs in Mendes comedy

The Office star John Krasinski and Saturday Night Live’s Maya Rudolph are set to play a couple looking for a place to call home before their newborn child arrives in an untitled comedy for Focus Features, set to be directed by American Beauty helmer Sam Mendes and written by Dave Eggers and his wife Vendela Vida. Cheryl Hines will also star and production will be underway in Connecticut next month. More at Variety.

Rodriguez makes it a Fast and Furious foursome

Michelle Rodriguez has reportedly signed on to star in the upcoming fourth installment of The Fast and the Furious, rounding out a reunion of the first film’s cast including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster. Diesel and Walker’s characters will once again partner to bring down a heroin dealer for the Feds. More at Coming Soon.

Wilson starts his Tenure

Luke Wilson and David Koechner will co-star in the comedy Tenure about competing college professors looking for a full tenure at the university. Newly formed production company Blowtorch Entertainment is producing and filming starts in April. More at Variety.

Seabiscuit director Ross goes back to the track for NASCAR flick

Gary Ross, who directed Pleasantville and Seabiscuit, will next turn his attention to the an untitled drama about NASCAR. The Sopranos executive producer Terence Winter will write the script for the film, which has the approval of the racing syndicate. More at Variety.
