03.13.08: Final 'Potter' Split In Half, New 'Hulk' Trailer & Singer Returns For 'Superman' Sequel

Confirming what web speculators have been chattering about for months, Warner Bros has announced that it is splitting the final Potter book, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, into a two-part film that will be shot simultaneously and released six months apart in November 2010 and May 2011. The studio also confirmed that David Yates, who directed Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and this November’s Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, will direct both instalments while Steve Kloves will undertake scripting duties. No word on how they plan to divide J.K. Rowling’s hefty tome, which at 784 pages in hardback makes an outstanding doorstop. “I think it’s the only way you can do it,” says franchise star Daniel Radcliffe. “The seventh book doesn’t really have any sub-plots [to cut]. It’s one driving, pounding story from word go.” More at LA Times
