Smith sets the record straight on Hitler quote
Apparently, Will Smith believes all people want to be fundamentally good, but it doesn’t mean he has to like them. After the Daily Record in Scotland interviewed Smith for I Am Legend, gossip sites pounced on a quote from the article where the actor said, "Even Hitler didn't wake up going, 'let me do the most evil thing I can do today.' I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was 'good.'" The ensuing flood of stories online led Smith’s publicist to work Christmas Day to issue the statement from the star calling the misappropriation of the quote as an endorsement of the Nazi leader, “an awful and disgusting lie.” More at Yahoo.
