Cohen cast as counterculture’s Abbie Hoffman in Spielberg’s Seven?
Sacha Baron Cohen is said to have signed a $5 million deal to star in Steven Spielberg’s drama The Trial of the Chicago Seven from a script by Aaron Sorkin. Cohen would play Abbie Hoffman, the legendary activist who was tried as a co-conspirator in the case of the 1968 Democratic Convention riots. Considering both Spielberg and Cohen have their dance cards full for a while — Spielberg with Indiana Jones and the Liam Neeson Lincoln biography, Cohen with the Borat followup Bruno — don’t expect the pairing to come immediately.
