Once, Ratatouille find critical mass as 2007's best

While Glenn Kenny has his picks and then some, the critical consensus on Rotten Tomatoes gives the nod to Once (98% fresh) and Ratatouille (97% fresh) as the year’s best films from 100 or more reviews. Other films receiving over 90% fresh marks included No Country for Old Men (95%), Away From Her (95%), In the Shadow of the Moon (94%), The Bourne Ultimatum (93%), Sicko (93%), Juno (93%), Gone Baby Gone (93%), Enchanted (93%), Hairspray (91%), The Host (92%), Rescue Dawn (91%), The Savages (91%), Knocked Up (90%) and Michael Clayton (90%). Spider-Man 3 spins 2007’s biggest domestic hit

Even though the top international earner Pirates of the Carribbean: At World’s End sailed around the globe to $961 million, Spider-Man 3 topped Captain Jack as well as Michael Bay’s Transformers ($319 million domestic, $706.3 million global) and Shrek the Third ($321 million domestic, $796 million global) to be the top grossing domestic film of 2007 with $336.5 million ($890.9 global). The rest of the top 10 films in America were Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ($292 million domestically, $938.5 globally), The Bourne Ultimatum ($227.4 million domestically, $441.2 million globally), 300 ($210.6 million domestically, $456.1 million globally), Ratatouille ($206 million domestically, $615.4 million globally), I Am Legend ($194.5 million and counting domestically, $255.9 million globally), and The Simpsons Movie ($183.1 million domestically, $525.6 million globally).
